This Saturday, Miracle Players Foundation is hosting its third annual Peace, Hope & Butterflies event at Flag Pole Hill. The event will feature music from up-and-coming Dallas bands and loads of activities to raise funding for research at Children’s Medical Center. They’re going to have a petting zoo, an obstacle course, a pirate ship, arts and crafts, a giant slide, and the event will culminate in the release of 500 butterflies by Dallas area childhood cancer warriors. Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for children. Check out the website for more.

Summer’s here and it’s time to get your feet wet at pool. City pools are opening this Sunday, including Tietze pool at 6115 Llano, which is open Monday through Thursday from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m, and Samual Grand at 3201 Samuel, which is open on Tuesdays and Saturdays from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. For a list of other pools in the Dallas area, check out this map.

Wicked Divas 220x160If you love the Tony award-winning musical “Wicked” (and if you haven’t seen it, you should), the Dallas Symphony Orchestra is offering their musical salute to the production with their show “Wicked Divas” this weekend, from May 31 to June 2. If you want to make the drive to Arts District, the show features Elphaba and Glinda from the Broadway production, as well as song selections from other Broadway favorites from Gypsy, Ragtime, Titanic and more.
