Fall is in the air with plenty of things to do with friends, family and kids. Mark your calendars now for these things coming down the pike from Good Local Markets, which is partnering with Farm to Market Workshop to offer free activities for children ages 3-8. (Parents must remain onsite).

On Sunday, Oct. 18 from 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at Half Price Books on Northwest Highway, and Saturday, Oct. 31 from 9 a.m.-11 a.m. at The Green Spot Market and Fuels: “What About Worms?” Children observe composting worms and harvest some worm castings to take home with the help of Texas Worm Ranch. Students will creat their own pet worms from clay.

On Saturday, Nov. 14 from 9 a.m.-11 a.m. at The Green Spot Market and Fuels and Sunday, Nov. 22 1030 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at Half Price Books on Northwest Highway: “Birds and Bees,” hosted with the assistance of Urban Chicken Ranch and Texas Honeybee Guild allows children to observe bees and interact with live chickens. Students will use a variety of art materials to create their own bees and chickens to take home.
