The LOT owner John McBride said Friday he is permanently closing the eatery and beer garden after seven years in business on Grand Avenue.

“Losing a spring season makes it financially impossible to recover,” McBride said. “But what great times we have had over the last seven years, and we thank East Dallas for their support and love.

“When this crazy time is over, we want all our LOT friends to head over to the White Rock Ale House. They are friendly (and local) people with great food, cold beer and wonderful patios.”

The LOT opened in 2013 where the old Backyard Beach Bar was once located.

Located across the street from White Rock Lake and along the Santa Fe Trail, it became a popular spot for walkers, joggers and bikers to stop and grab a beer, a burger or the bestselling cayenne fried cauliflower.
