In 2016, Biscuit Bar co-owner Janie Burkett gave birth to twins Bryce Joelle & Blake Danielle prematurely. After two weeks, Bryce died due to infection. Her husband, Jake, created a makeshift biscuit bar at their home, while hosting a New Year’s Eve gathering after months of grief. They then turned their home biscuit bar into a restaurant concept in 2018, upon opening their first location in Plano.

Janie and Jake have since opened five Biscuit Bar locations throughout Dallas-Fort Worth, including one in Deep Ellum.

In addition to donating sales from their biscuit nuggets, they will also be selling a limited-edition purple hat, sales from which will also benefit March of Dimes,

The Biscuit Bar’s Deep Ellum location is located at 2550 Pacific Ave., Suite 150, Dallas.
