Whether you noticed it or not, the Tango Frogs, as they are affectionately known, disappeared from the Taco Cabana roof for a time.

But don’t despair, the three frogs were returned today after getting a facelift during a refurbishment project, according to the company.

This isn’t the first time the frogs have gone missing. In the early 80s, six frogs danced on top of the building when it was a nightclub called Tango. However, the story is that a rise in complaints about the sculptures violating a sign ordinance led to the frogs eventually being taken down.

It wasn’t until 2014 that three of the six frogs were returned to their home on the roof thanks to a purchase by Taco Cabana.

So the next time you’re near 1827 Greenville Ave., take a look at the roof and the dancing frogs that now have a shiny new glimmer to them.
