There’s a new cocktail bar with a late-1980s vibe connected to mainstay Urbano Cafe at 1412 N. Fitzhugh Ave.

The Dallas Morning News reported that Sylvestro opened on Halloween with cocktails ranging from $16 to $20. Drinks on the menu include familiar favorites, some with twists, including:

  • Everything Espresso Martini with Japanese iichiko sochu, orgeat, everything seasoning, soy sauce and crushed fortune cookie with a fortune
  • Bergamot Martini with dry vermouth, an Italian bergamot liqueur and Pernod
  • Gioiello with midori, gin, centerbe, dry vermouth and a maraschino cherry

Currently, the bar is open from 5 p.m. to midnight Tuesday through Saturday, The Dallas Morning News reported. And since it is connected to Urbano Cafe, restaurant diners can order drinks from Sylvestro, and bar patrons can order food from Urbano. However, this does mean that Urbano Cafe is not BYOB anymore.

Like Urbano Cafe, Sylvestro is a concept by Pasha and Sina Heidari, who have a number of concepts under their belts, including St. Martin’s Wine Bistro, also in Old East Dallas.

Another possible player here is Madison King, the singer-songwriter who recently closed her restaurant Be Home Soon in Casa Linda. One of the pictures in The Dallas Morning News story showed King pouring a drink at Sylvestro, but she hasn’t confirmed her involvement publicly as far as I can tell.
