The salad chain, which has locations across the United States, is celebrating its grand opening in Lakewood on Aug. 23.

Sweetgreen is housed at the corner of Gaston Avenue and Abrams Parkway in the former Dixie House/Sugarbacon Proper Kitchen/Kozy Kitchen space.

This will be the third Dallas location, adding to the stores in Uptown and Deep Ellum. The majority of Sweetgreen’s dishes are salads and warm bowls.

Our neighborhood has seen a sort of influx of healthy, fast-casual chains recently. Cava replaced Zoes Kitchen across the street, Crisp & Green opened at the corner of Mockingbird and Abrams, and Salad and Go opened on Ross Avenue. These are in addition to places including Unleavened Fresh Kitchen and Roots Juices, which also focus on nutritious menus.

We haven’t forgotten about the Lakewood Shopping Center clock. As of publication, it hasn’t been reinstalled, but we’re keeping an eye on it.
