Attention musicians — and I know there are a lot of you in this neighborhood — this is your time to show off your song writing prowess. The 2008 Dallas Songwriters Association song contest is underway.
There are 10 categories this year, and one of the judges — David Card, owner of Poor David’s Pub — hails from our hood. However, entries come from all over … last year’s contest saw songs from all around the world.
You can enter your songs online through Oct. 31, 2008, or by mail with entry form mailed to: DSA, 2008 Song Contest, Sammons Center for the Arts, 3630 Harry Hines Blvd. #20, Dallas, TX 75219.
Entry fees are $20 per song for general public and $15 per song for DSA members. Winners will be announced Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2008.
