Snowbaby, a locally-owned business, opened in Lakewood in 2018. Owner Chrissy Kuo announced the decision to close on Snowbaby’s Instagram account in a post.

“I started Snowbaby with an idea and goal to give unique experiences with health and adventure in mind,” Kuo posted. “These past four years have been nothing short of a dream and I’m so proud to have been part of this company and brand.”

Kuo also said she’s pursuing other ventures, but Snowbaby will continue its booked catering schedule until close and is not taking on new jobs. The shop will have one more pop up at Light Up Lakewood.

During the pandemic, Kuo added a truck for the shop’s shaved ice called Snowbaby mobile to reach new customers where they could order seasonal flavors and toppings.

At one point, Snowbaby made it on Food Network’s list of top shaved ice places in the country.

Snowbaby is located at 6404 Gaston Ave.
