Street resurfacing projects on Skillman, including curb replacements, have spanned Llano Street to Marquita Avenue; Revere Place to Winton Street; and Rincon Way to Southwestern Boulevard. Construction was also ongoing near Skillman and East Northwest Highway.

Crews finished paving all segments except on Skillman Street at Llano, near the southwest corner of Tietze Park. In this area, traffic has been shifted and reduced to one lane for each direction.

A boring machine broke, causing a delay in project completion, but the paving and striping should be finished by May 5, a spokesperson for the City of Dallas said.

This project is financed by certificate of obligation funds through the general obligation debt service fund.

East Dallas drivers know this isn’t the first project on Skillman in recent years.

Another resurfacing project on Skillman from East Northwest Highway to Abrams Road was completed in July.

Two others on Skillman, from Gaston Avenue to Swiss Avenue and from Richmond Avenue to Llano Avenue, finished in June 2019 and August 2018, respectively, were funded through the 2017 bond.

Keep track of other maintenance projects the Department of Public Works is undertaking.
