The winner for the Beard competiton’s Best Chef: Southwest was Lachlan Mackinnon-Patterson of Frasca in Boulder. No offense to Mackinnon-Patterson, but I’ve eaten at Hage’s York Street and at Frasca. And while the latter was pretty good, there is no comparison.

This now marks at least the seventh time Hage has been nominated and has not won. To be honest, I don’t have the heart to look up the exact number.
