For 10 weeks, Aguasal will reside inside the Rye interior at 1920 Greenville Ave. Until Fall they will feature new food and drink menus accompanied by a tropical space redesign.

Aguasal’s pop-up is a preview for its restaurant opening in McKinney at 214 E. Louisiana St. later in 2024, from Walkabout Hospitality, which also owns Rye, according to Culture Map.

“Help us decide what dishes and drinks should stay and preview the restaurant before the restaurant is even open,” Rye said on Instagram.

The ambiance and menu of Aguasal aim to offer tropical plates that feel like a Spanish staycation.

Notable menu items so far include Arepjitas, which is a combination of Mexican fajitas and Venezuelan arepas and a $35 ($20 for children) all-you-can-eat brunch featuring tres leches French toast, breakfast tacos, papas chilaquiles and tostadas (customers are limited to ordering two items at a time).

Aguasal is open Tuesday through Sunday, hours of operation and reservations can be accessed online.
