Dallas’ art museums may be closed because of the coronavirus pandemic, but there’s still plenty of art to see in the neighborhood.

At Ridgewood Park, an impromptu art gallery is taking shape along the fence that borders the park.
Neighborhood kids have participated with watercolor paintings and drawings of baseball bats, sailboats, an X-wing Starfighter from “Star Wars” and more.
A white board says the gallery is for kids, but the curator probably wouldn’t mind if teens or adults got involved. Look, even pets have joined in on the fun.
The fence isn’t just a place for art. Several poems have been attached to the chain links with zip ties.
“Put something silly in the world that ain’t been there before,” one signs says.
That includes, but is not limited to, singing a silly song, whistling through your teeth or dancing along the sidewalk.
If you need to get out of the house, walk by Ridgewood Park and be inspired to create your own masterpiece.
