It’s Hatch chile season, and a couple restaurants in our neighborhood have added special menu offerings to celebrate.
Meso Maya is adding a $13 Hatch cantorito, made with Casa Noble tequila blanco, Cointreau, Hatch chile, lime and pineapple. The rim is covered with lime-chile chamoy. Get it starting Aug. 9.

Snuffer’s added three new items to showcase the Hatch chile, all available starting Aug. 16.
There’s a Hatch chile sloppy burger, priced at $9.95, which includes a beef patty cooked with diced chiles and onions. It’s topped with 120-day-aged melted cheddar cheese, tomato and chipotle mayo and served on a poppy seed bun.
The Greenville Avenue restaurant is also serving the crispy Hatch chicken sandwich for $8.95. House-battered chicken breast is made to order and topped with melted jack cheese, green cabbage slaw, tomato, Hatch sauce and chipotle mayo on a poppy seed bun.
Wash those down with a Hatch margarita. Priced at $8.50, it is made with blue agave tequila blanco, house-made Hatch chile puree, lime and pineapple juices and Cointreau. It’s served on the rocks with a lime-chile-TajÃn rim.
