When Wamre and I have crucial Advocate business to discuss, we have lunch at the Burger House. It’s honest food that’s reasonably priced. What more can one ask for?
I like the hamburgers and hot dogs, mostly with chili. Wamre goes through phases, which have included the various chicken sandwiches.
Burger House’s season salt, which has been around for 50 years or so, caught the eye of John T. Edge, the well-known food writer and chronicler of local eateries. The last time he was in town, John T. asked me where he could get a good, locally-made burger, and I suggested Burger House. He thought the salt was the coup de grace to a terrific experience.
