The gourmet sandwich shop had been popular for its specialty cocktails that were the brainchild of owner, Eddie “Lucky” Campbell.

Now for some good news. The neighborhood is welcoming two new restaurants—one of which has already opened. On Oct. 14, Dallas got its first Craft Beer Cellar at 6324 Gaston. The franchise brings a unique selection of brews, from Nevada IPAs to Austrian lagers.

On Thursday Manny’s Uptown Tex Mex will have a grand opening in Lakewood with a ribbon cutting by the Chamber of Commerce at 5 p.m. on Oct. 20 at the new location on 6465 E. Mockingbird Lane. Manny’s will be taking over the building that once housed Rex’s Seafood, which closed its doors after only being open seven months. The new Tex-Mex locale offers diners breakfast, lunch and dinner while promising to be a”one-of-a-kind restaurant, and the best Tex-Mex in town.”
