Two U.S. Postal Service post offices in our neighborhood are now participating in the USPS Connect Local pilot program.
The program, which started July 19, helps businesses and organizations provide local-to-local same-day or next-day package delivery at affordable prices. It launched in three Dallas locations and is now available at the University Post Office and Lakewood Post Office.
After businesses sign up for the program, they can bring prepaid labeled packages directly to the back dock of the post office closest to their package destinations. To submit package information, print shipping labels, pay for postage and receive tracking numbers, click here. Packages must be dropped off between 5-7 a.m. for same-day delivery or 30 minutes before the back dock closes for next-day delivery.
They will get delivery rates usually only given to large-volume mailers.
More locations are expected to offer the pilot program in future months.
