Thursday outside East Dallas apartment
Gaston Avenue from Loving to Grand opened back up to traffic at about 5:30 Thursday after several hours closed to vehicles. The exact reasons why the closure — along with the 20 or more police vehicles, SWAT trailer, etc. — are not completely clear.
The East Dallas Latino Instagram Facebook page shared these SWAT photos.
We know this: multiple witnesses at the scene say after a medical emergency call to police and emergency personnel, a person barricaded him or herself inside a location at the Winstead at White Rock apartments on Gaston Ave. near East Grand.
After shots were fired, a deceased body was wheeled away.
Police have not yet returned request for details.
