The Harry Stone Recreation Center on Milner is hosting the third annual Northeast Wellness and Safety Breakfast for area residents 55 and up next month.

The event, put on by the Dallas Police Department, will open at 9 a.m. on July 21 with a free breakfast and continue with presentations at 10 a.m.

Guest speaker Jill Turner, the president of Cooper Healthy Living will discuss brain health and dementia prevention, and police will be giving away at least 20 portable air conditioner units and box fans.

Last year the event hosted more than 200 seniors.
