Jordan Perez, 14, was shot June 4 near the Old East Dallas Work Yard Park on Alton Avenue. Perez, a J.L. Long Middle School student, died at a hospital of his injuries.

The police tweeted June 17 that a 15-year-old, whose name was not released, was arrested for murder and unlawfully carrying weapons. Detectives are still trying to figure out who else was in the car with the suspect that night, the department says.

In addition to Perez, police found a 19-year-old man who was shot in the hand, and he was in stable condition.

Officers seized four weapons, one of them from the 15-year-old, who was among the group that met Perez at the park the night he was shot, the police told The Dallas Morning News.

Anyone with information about this incident should call the police at 214-671-3623.
