TCU plays Louisiana Tech in the Poinsettia Bowl in San Diego at 7 p.m. Wednesday, and it’s the last college game for Woodrow alumnus Greg McCoy, who is a graduate student in his last year of NCAA eligibility.

Sports pundits are remarking what a step down this bowl is for TCU, after playing in the Rose Bowl last year. But McCoy told a San Diego newspaper: “We’re all just as excited to play in this bowl game. There’s no letdown at all.”

McCoy has a compelling success story; he worked three jobs in high school and is the first person in his family to graduate from college. Plus, he  seems like a really nice guy.
