US 75 is open today after a planned weekend closure allowed construction crews to place the new Northaven Trail Bridge. The 201-foot arched bridge is designed to span the gap between existing pedestrian and bicycle trails east and west of the busy highway.

The project will be completed later this month when the final sections are constructed over the north and south bound service roads.

Drivers took to social media to vent their frustration during the 20-hour closure Saturday night and Sunday, and some traveling from I-635 onto the southbound ramp were actually seen making U-turns on the High Five to avoid getting caught in traffic (video courtesy of Dallas Texas TV and @larandallscroggins below).
