09.22.11-09.25.11 DALLAS VIDEOFEST $25-$35 The oldest and largest film festival is back, featuring a diverse group of filmmakers that continues to push the art form to the next level. This year, the Dallas VideoFest has introduced a new category — the subgenre — with a focus on underground films that document counterculture and subculture , such as “Skatestan,” a skating video directed by James M. Johnston. Other highlights include Guts N Glory, in which teams shoot 100 feet of film on Super 8 or 16mm cameras and create a live performance piece to accompany it.
