Dallas police officer Bervin Smith expects thousands to attend the Northeast Division’s Health and Safety Fair.
Smith is the mastermind behind the annual event, which is geared toward children with special needs this year. Smith has spent weeks organizing free health screenings, giveaways, games, a bike rodeo and classic car show.
And he still needs neighbors’ help. Smith is in need of volunteers, turkeys and 1,000 coats to give children in need during the fair. His only requirements are that the coats are new and dropped off at the Northeast Division station, 9915 Northwest Highway.
The fair is slated Saturday, Nov. 10, from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. at Lake Highlands High School. For more details or to volunteer, reach out to Smith at 214-202-6255 or email@example.com.
