Nine Woodrow Wilson HIgh School seniors are among 35 DISD students receiving $5,000 State Fair of Texas Scholarships, renewable in $1,250 annual increments to students attending Texas schools and maintaining at least 3.0 GPAs. The Woodrow recipients include Jane Bumford, Andrea Graham, Christina Maturino, Ana Michel, Timothy Moore, Maria Perez, Rachael Regan, Alexandra Slaughter and Kara Tinsley. The Fair has been awarding and renewing scholarships to DISD students since 1992, and this year’s awards bring the total distributed to more than $2.3 million. The students will be honored Tuesday at a luncheon; Clarice Tinsley of Fox 4 news will present the awards.
