Those who wish to try Ngon prior to its September opening date may place an order for carryout. All customers must wear a mask, and payments can be made through Venmo or Zelle.

The food at Ngon is inspired by Nguyen’s upbringing in Ha Noi, as well as Vietnamese street food. Many of Ngon’s recipes are from Nguyen’s grandmother.

The menu offers traditional Vietnamese dishes, as well as signature items, like the king crab banh canh. This dish is a tapioca noodle dish with pork rib, shrimp, grilled ham and king crab meat. Additionally, there will be a banh mi station for on-the-go bites.

“This restaurant is close to my heart as it’s food from my home and food that I love to eat,” Nguyen said in a statement. “It’s one of the few Vietnamese restaurants in Dallas proper, so I want to do my best to introduce and celebrate the food from my home and from all three regions of Vietnam to diners.”

Ngon is bedecked with orchids, flowers and greenery to replicate a Vietnamese home or business. On the walls, guests will find black and white photographs of Nguyen’s hometown, Ha Noi.

Ngon Vietnamese Kitchen is located at 1907 Greenville Ave.
