Woodrow English teacher Keith Black forwarded a link to a story This Old House magazine recently wrote about the Best Places to buy an Old House in 2010. The Junius Heights neighborhood was tapped as the best place for familes to buy an old house, with the article citing nearby Woodrow Wilson High School as one good reason, as well as the fact that a bunch of DMN reporters and lawyers live there. (I’m not sure why having journalists and lawyers bidding up the price for housing improves a neighborhood, but hey, if it helps get publicity…) Neighborhood resident and Realtor Bill Williams is quoted in the article; he’s one of the organizers of the annual fall Junius Heights Home Tour, which the Advocate has sponsored for a number of years. Spoiler alert, though: There’s one comment on the This Old House website about Junius heights, and it’s not particularly complimentary.
