A Texas summer is creeping up on us once again. Soon, the only way to be comfortable outdoors will be early in the morning, after sunset or somewhere near a pool or water slide.
August Real Estate Co., owner of the Lakewood Tower at 6301 Gaston Ave. (home to yours truly, Advocate Media), is stepping up to provide entertainment for one of those settings. Movie nights featuring family films, like the original Lilo & Stitch and The Incredibles, are scheduled around sunset on the first three Wednesdays in June (June 4, 11 and 18) at the Lakewood Tower.

Depending on the weather, the movies will be shown in the tower’s courtyard on Gaston Avenue (outside the doors on floor P1, if you’re familiar with the building) using a large projector screen and speaker. Anyone in the neighborhood is welcome to attend for free. Just don’t forget to bring a blanket to sit on. These events don’t include food or drinks, but feel free to bring your own.
The movies will start at sunset or just before, around 8:15-8:30 p.m. Kicking off this series on June 4 will be a showing of Lilo & Stitch (2002).
Stay cool, Lakewood!
