Vietnamese restaurant Mot Hai Ba is closing temporarily for an interior redesign and new menu.
When it reopens, the Lewis Street eatery will still offer Vietnamese food with a French technique, but the menu is moving away from street food, the Dallas Morning News reported. Chef-proprietor Peja Krstic, who’s originally from Serbia, wants to add kimchi and foie gras dumplings with Wagyu ribeye to the menu.

“The name stays, but just because there’s a name doesn’t mean it has anything to do with the restaurant it used to be,” Krstic told the Morning News.
During the two weeks Krstic expects the restaurant to be closed, he is planning to remove the communal seating.
In the meantime, diners can visit the second Mot Hai Ba location at 665 High Market St. in Victory Park, which reopened late last month.
Mot Hai Ba in East Dallas is located at 6047 Lewis St. near Skillman Street.
