Casa Linda’s Monster Yogurt has launched its 12th annual book drive benefiting underserved schools in Dallas.
This year’s book drive will be running through the end of February. The drive was started by Monster Yogurt’s founder Ava Skipworth, after she opened the Casa Linda location in 2012.
Neighbors looking to participate in the drive can donate new or gently used books at Monster Yogurt. Last year, Monster Yogurt sponsored five Title 1 schools’ book fairs, and provided students access to new reading materials as a result of the community’s donations.
Skipworth’s passion for promoting literacy in the community is infused into Monster Yogurt’s operations, with both the Casa Linda and Richardson locations maintaining Little Free Libraries.
“While our shops don’t have TVs, we do offer a selection of books,” Skipworth said. “Local kids love to enjoy a Monster Yogurt while exploring and reading from our collection.”
