Decades ago, agricultural journalist Tom Hargrove was taken hostage by the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia.

Miles Hargrove, one of his sons, is a documentary filmmaker whose most recent work, “Miracle Fishing: Kidnapped Abroad,” tells the story of his father, who was brought back to the United States at Dallas Love Field Airport.

Miles Hargrove will join Bruce Bleakley, retired Air Force lieutenant colonel, in a conversation about his father’s story. Bleakley is an aviation historian and aviation industry consultant who has written several books about the aviation industry.

“Miracle Fishing” was screened at Tribeca, the American Film Institute DOCS and the Dallas International Film Festival. It’s available on Discovery+ and Amazon.

The podcast featuring Hargrove and Bleakley will be streamed Oct. 12 at 12:30 p.m. on Facebook and YouTube. The recorded version will be available afterward on Spotify and Apple Podcasts.
