A memorial service for long-time neighbor and League of Women Voters of Dallas member Annie Jones will be held at St. Thomas the Apostle Church this Saturday, Nov. 2 at 2:00 p.m.

The Juliette Fowler resident was 88 years old at her time of death. Jones began her membership with the League of Women Voters of Dallas in 1987 and went on to serve over 35 years with the organization.

Jones spoke to the Advocate back in 2019, sharing her passion for disability rights after an incident that left her spinal cord injured and back shattered at the age of 36.

Her desire to advance disability rights in our neighborhood led her to join a local chapter of Americans Disabled for Accessible Public Transit and to help start DART’s Paratransit Service.
