First off, the Woodrow Wilson coaches received the title of Staff of the Year for District 12-5A while junior Cade Fennegan was named all-around MVP; Sophomore Xavier Gipson was named the special teams MVP.

And even though the season may be over, the team’s work isn’t.

On Dec. 15 the students will be participating in a Woodrow Wilson football event to help support the Woodrow Peace Pantry. From 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. residents can meet the football champs and participate in a punt, pass and kick competition by age group. There will also be an opportunity purchase team posters, which can be signed by the players.

The only entry price is a donation of canned goods to be donated to the Peace Pantry, which provides needy students at Woodrow with food. Here’s to a good season and a great cause.
