Stonewall Jackson Elementary School
As we mentioned last week, at least three neighborhood schools will see a leadership change in the fall, according to Dallas ISD: J.L. Long Middle School, Stonewall Jackson Elementary School and Victor H. Hexter Elementary School.
So far Long hasn’t announced its new principal, but both Stonewall Jackson and Hexter have sent out school-wide introduction letters to their parents.
Here’s what we know:
Melanie Schiff is the new principal at Stonewall. She has nine years of experience as a principal in Dallas ISD and Nashville, Tenn. She graduated from the University of Kansas with a bachelors degree in general studies and English, and the University of North Texas with a masters in education. She has experience working with English as a second language and English as a foreign language.
Jennifer Jackson is the new principal at Hexter. She worked as the associate principal at Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts since 2010. Previously she has worked as an English teacher, librarian, district English/language arts coordinator and an online adjunct professor at the University of North Texas. In addition to English language arts, she holds endorsements or certifications in gifted and talented, English as a second language, media specialist, physical education and health.
