Mavs fans, if you’ve been missing your play-by-play broadcaster Mark Followill, take comfort in the fact that he’s reportedly ready to return to work following a face-busting accident that occurred here in the neighborhood.

It happened at White Rock Lake Saturday, and despite what we know about the unruly crowds at the lake most Saturdays, he doesn’t appear to blame the incident on anyone other than a bumpy road.

Followill was riding his bike lakeside when he hit an uneven part of the trail and promptly was catapulted over the handlebars and onto the pavement, according to an ESPN report.

He told ESPN’s Tim MacMahon that he spent six hours in the ER and another few in the dentist’s chair.

Back to usual, barring a few swellings and bruises, he will broadcast tonight with Derek Harper and courtside reporter Jeff “Skin” Wade, a Berkner High School (RISD) grad featured in our Lake Highlands Advocate a couple years back.

Before the incident at the lake, Followill had never missed a game.
