Retired Lakewood Elementary School kindergarten teacher Marian Hammert was feted recently at her C.C. Young Senior Living Dallas home. The event celebrated the longtime neighborhood educator’s 80th birthday.
A standing-room-only crowd of family, friends and neighbors attended the event at C.C. Young. The group shared memories, photos and good times with the former K-A class icon.
Hammert’s teaching career spanned 40 years, four of which were in Department of Defense schools: two in Seoul Elementary in South Korea and two in Germany: one in Karlsruhe and the second in Ludwigsburg.
She taught at Lakewood Elementary for 25 years.
