Eighteen-year-old Andres Martinez was fatally shot Monday around 2 a.m. while riding in a friend’s car at the intersection of Gaston Avenue and Garland Road, just down the street from the White Rock YMCA, according to a DMN story. Martinez apparently left the OK Sports Bar and Grill, 7315 Gaston (click here for a street view) after being involved in an argument, and while Martinez sat in the passenger seat of a vehicle waiting at the Gaston/Garland red light, he was shot. Police reported that they have a lead in the case and didn’t release any information about the suspect’s vehicle. The OK Sports Bar is located between the YMCA and the Far West nightclub.
