Patterson was involved with many sports during her time at Bryan Adams, according to the White Rock Lake Weekly. She was a junior lieutenant and captain for the Bryan Adams Belles, broke records and competed at the state meet as a member of the swim team, and participated in tennis and softball.

In her spare time, and as a member of Ridgewood Park United Methodist Church, Patterson volunteered at the Austin Street Shelter and church carnivals, went on mission trips and worked in the church nursery.

She is majoring in criminal justice at Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, and she hasn’t stopped her philanthropic work. By the fall, she will be hosting a “build your resume day” to help prepare foster care students ages 14-18 for college or careers. Earlier this year, she put together a toiletry drive at Robert T. Hill Middle School, where she once attended, and assembled care packages for students in foster care.
