The students, who participate in the International Baccalaureate program at the high school, are taking the lead on the project.

When they’re done, the words “welcome to the Santa Fe Trail” will be painted on the side of the bridge. Art teacher Jessica Raff came up with the original concept for the mural, but the students are responsible for designing each letter.

“Students are excited to share what they’re passionate about with this neighborhood,” Raff told The Advocate in an interview for a previous story.

Several Woodrow students were working on the mural over the weekend. Here’s a look at their progress so far.
