The Long Run, one of the oldest and most established races in East Dallas and the only annual fundraiser for J. L. Long Middle School, is tonight.
The festivities begin at 5:30 p.m. on the Long campus. The one-mile family fun run\walk kicks off at 6 p.m. at the front lawn of the middle school, located at 6116 Reiger.
The 5k certified run begins at 6:30 p.m. and runs along the Santa Fe Trail before winding its way through Old East Dallas neighborhoods. Each entrant will receive a race t-shirt. Awards will be given for the fastest runners in the various age categories.
After the races runners, student, parents, families and other community members will continue the fun with food, refreshments and entertainment.
