The battle for the soul of Little Forest Hills is taking place at the same time, but with less public fanfare, than the battle for the Trinity. But the Morning News did a good story the other day about the struggle occuring just off Garland Road and east of White Rock Lake, where a longstanding community of 900 homes is grappling with whether a conservation district is needed to protect the area’s appeal. If you’ve never been to Little Forest Hills, take a drive through the neighborhood some weekend, and you’ll see wha the fuss is all about — lots and lots of smaller homes, but a growing number of new homes double or triple the size of the existing ones.
