Get your holiday shopping started, sip and snack for a good cause this Thursday.
The William Lipscomb Elementary PTA will hold its second annual silent auction — sponsored by Hotels.com. — Thursday, Nov. 4, at 7 p.m. at Times Ten Cellars (6324 Prospect). It’s free to attend, so while you snack on food furnished by local businesses, browse and bid on weekend getaways, sports memorabilia, performing arts tickets, educational classes, personal services and restaurant gift certificates. All proceeds from the auction will go directly to benefit the children at William Lipscomb Elementary, including funding a shade structure for the playground to protect children from harmful exposure to the sun, organizers say.
William Lipscomb Elementary School is the neighborhood school for Munger Place Historic District, Junius Heights Historic District, and Swiss Avenue Historic District.
