The class looks pretty intense, held one Saturday a month from 3-6 p.m. beginning Sept. 22.

October 20—Vegetable Dishes (subjis)

November 17—Rice Dishes

January 19— Sweet Drinks, Salads, Condiments and Chutneys

Each class includes theory, body type information, recipes and a taster party.

Dodson describes the Ayurvedic style of cooking as therapeutic , spiritual and a means to true health:

This 5000-year-old science encompasses Body Mind and Spirit. It is documented in the ancient Vedic scriptures, so in this way of cooking and eating, it takes food to the sacred level. Cooking in this way is both an art and a science and so fulfilling. In the Ayurvedic style of cooking the spices are your medicine. We use only organic products for our cooking classes.

If you register early, you can take all four 3-hour session for $400. That offer is good through Aug. 31.

Those who attend all classes will be certified in Ayurvedic Cooking Beginners Series II. Individual classes are $150.00.
