Lakehill's John Godbey and Davis Clark celebrate winning the TAPPS 2A state tennis championship.
Two Lakehill Preparatory School students, John Godbey and Davis Clark, have won the TAPPS 2A State Boys Doubles Tennis Championship and their Lakehill varsity team was named State Runners-Up. Godbey, a graduating senior, lives in Lakewood, and Clark, a junior, is a Lake Highlands resident.
“Since John is a senior, we put a lot of pressure on ourselves to get it done this year,” Clark told me. “You never know how it’s going to work out until you’re there, but we played our best match of the year when it mattered most.”
Both boys work as hard in the classroom as they do on the courts, and both were named Academic All State for their scholastic achievement. John is Lakehill’s Valedictorian and will head off to Duke in the fall. Congratulations, guys!
