Clock-2-768x1024The clock above Sugarbacon Proper Kitchen in the Lakewood Shopping Center has been through a lot these past couple of years. When it was above Dixie House it stopped working, was taken down and went through repairs that made many people wonder if the familiar piece of Lakewood would return.

It did return but it’s fair to say the clock has seen its share of weather conditions throughout the time it has hung above the building. But the people of Sugarbacon have noticed and decided to take the clock down once again. Don’t fret though; after all this time the clock is finally getting the update it deserves. Thanks to an initiative by the people at Sugarbacon, the clock, with the blessing of the landlord, is being restored and is expected to be back up around Christmas.

Jason Ferraro, corporate chef and partner at Sugarbacon, says about a month ago they had the clock taken down and are currently waiting for it to return.

“We’re thrilled to host a piece of history like that,” Ferraro says. “We know how important the history of this clock is to Lakewood.”

Not a bad Christmas present after all.
