Sohail Basirat is passionate about health. The Lakewood Hills neighborhood had this in mind when he decided to bring the Tennessee-based franchise I Love Juice Bar to Lakewood.
“What I have personally noticed about the juices that are in Dallas is that most of them are pre-bottled and simply sold in the store,” he says. “What makes us unique is that you can fully customize your juices and that they are made fresh right in front of you.”
He plans to open in the Lakeview shopping center (on the southwest corner of Gaston and Garland), right next to the UPS store in the space that was once home to an eyeglass shop. It will be the second Dallas location for the brand, in addition to the one on Park Lane.
“I myself am a Lakewood resident and know first-hand how active our neighborhood is in eating healthy and staying fit,” Â Basirat says. “I also am a local at the UFC gym nearby and believe everyone needs a healthy snack after a good workout. I wanted to get as close as possible to White Rock Lake as we hope to have many events in partnership with the community nearby.”
Basirat hopes to have it open by August, and will be hiring locally in the coming weeks. He will also be looking for area farmers for produce, since the brand prides itself on locally sourced and organic products. In addition to juices, the shop will offer healthy, mostly vegetarian menu items such as salads, soups, quinoa bowls and breakfast items.
