The owner, Ryan Ferguson, also owned Knox Street Pub before it closed in 2019 when the landlord wanted to redevelop the property. A broker contacted Ferguson, and he decided to reopen on Henderson, according to CultureMap.

“I took this space on Henderson with one goal in mind — to keep the same fun, welcome feeling the bar has always had,” Ferguson told the publication.

Knox Street Pub opened in 1967 on Knox Street and later moved to McKinney Avenue. Many guests called the bar KSP for short, and Ferguson wanted to incorporate that legacy into the new bar.

KSP Henderson will have 20 taps, with 12 dedicated to beer. The remaining eight will be for trendy wine, CultureMap reported. The bar will still serve bourbon and food made in house.
