A neighborhood blogger and wildlife enthusiast Bernard Brown caught some images of what he says are migrating geese that stop here on their trip north. The Canadians have a black head, white chinstrap and black neck and large black webbed feet.

Brown notes that the Canadian fowl ruffled the feathers of the local geese.

“Resident Chinese geese constantly tried to chase off the Canadian geese,” he says.

I frequently see the gaggles of geese on the east side of the lake, near the Bath House or between the Bath House and Winfrey Point.

More about these geese at his blog.

In other goose news: Wilbur is still missing.
