JFC partnered with R3 Student Outreach, which aims to support youth and young adults as they pursue personal development and academic achievement, to manage and expand services at the Youth Support Center, according to a press release. The center, which was established in 2020, is now in a 4,371-square-foot space on the campus of another JFC partner, East Dallas Christian Church off North Peak Street near Old East Dallas.

The Youth Support Center has free services for North Texas kids and young adults, ages 10-24, such as counseling, mentorship, tutoring, STEM-focused after-school programming, job development opportunities and certifications as well as necessities like food, clothing, bus passes and toiletries. The center also has a fully accredited private school with a focus on professional development and a high school diploma program.

The center’s leaders expect they will serve over 400 people in the first year at the new location. The grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony will take place Friday, May 16.
