At about 5 p.m. Oct. 4 J.L. Long Middle School hosted its 16th annual J.L. Long Run, benefitting the J.L. Long Middle School PTA. Last year, about 1,000 people participated in the run, which raised about $45,000. The money raised goes toward extras that are not in the school’s budget, such as classroom technology, medical supplies for the nurse’s office, JROTC uniforms, musical instruments and entry fees to tournaments.
